36 years old Arsenal and Czech Republic goal keeper, Peter Cech has announced on Twitter that he will hang his gloves at the end of the 2018/2019 season. Peter Cech enjoyed a successful 20 years professional football career, and felt the time his right to retire from active football.
Here is what he said through his Twitter account: ‘’this is my 20th season as a professional player and it has been 201 years since I signed my professional contract, so it feels like the right time to announce that I will retire at the end of the season. Having played in the premier league and won every single trophy this season and then I am looking forward to seeing what life holds for me off the pitch.’’
Peter Cech commenced his professional career with Czech Republic team Chmel Blsany between 1999 – 2001 at the age of 17, he made 27 appearances. After playing for Chmel Blsany, he moved to Sparta Prague between 2001 – 2002, he made 27 appearances. Then he moved to Rennes between 2002 – 2004, he made 70 appearances. And then an English premiership team Chelsea bough him, he had a total of 333 appearances with them. In 2015, he was transferred to Arsenal and made 110 appearances.
