41 years old boxing champion, Floyd Mayweather knocked down 21 years old Japanese Kick boxer, Teshin Nasukawa three times in two minutes on the first round of their New Year eve boxing match at the Saitama super arena, Tokyo on the 31st of December 2018.
The boxing match was scheduled to last for three rounds, three minutes for each round . Teshin Nasukawa was cautioned with a $5 million fine if he aims a kick at Floyd Mayweather during the fight. Mayweather was to earn $4.5 million for each minute of the fight, and since the fight lasted for two minutes, Floyd Mayweather earned $9 million dollars.
The disappointed 21 years Teshin Nasukawa was in tears, while Mayweather addressed the crowd in Tokyo. Mayweather said: ‘’I want to say thank you to Teshin. This doesn’t go on our record, we are still undeafeated. He is a great champion and a great fighter. I am still retired I don’t look to come back to boxing. I came back for entertainment for the people of Japan.’’
The fight doesn’t add to both Mayweather and Teshin official career record. Floyd Mayweather still retains his professional boxing record of 50-0, and Teshin Nasukawa retains his undefeated kickboxing record of 28-0.
