Catholic Church head Pope Francis is visiting the United Arab Emirate (UAE) to celebrate the Eucharistic mass at the Zayed stadium, UAE. According to reports, more than 100,000 Christians are in the Arabian Peninsula to celebrate the first papal mass with the Pope, and some of the Christian pilgrims came with a white dove which was painted with the UAE flag by its wings, symbolizes peace.
The crown prince and the papal host Muhammad Bin Zayed said: ‘’the pope is a symbol of peace, tolerance, and the promotion of brotherhood.’’
The neighboring Saudi Arabian countries still bans churches and Christmas trees. But prince Muhammad Bin Zayed has in contrast welcomed other religion different from Islam. Under his tenure, the UAE offered fleeing Christian a safe heaven. The UAE has a new Cathedral, 16 new churches, and about 700 congregations in these churches. In 2013, the UAE was ranked third among countries with the fastest growing Christian population.
The theme of the Pope visit to UAE is: ‘’make me a channel of your peace.’’
